Hawai’i's Transient Accommodation Tax is 8 1/4% and the General Excise Tax is 4 1/6%. There’s also a non-refundable $150 cleaning deposit and a $500 security deposit which we’ll refund 2 weeks after checkout provided there’s been no loss or damage to the condo.

24-hour Times Supermarket, part of a major Hawai’i chain, is a block away. There’s also a 24-hour Safeway, a Longs Drugs and a Walgreens, all a block apart, 5 miles south. Either pharmacy will fill your out-of-state prescription. You’ll pass all these places on your way from the airport.

Doctors On Call operates out of the Hyatt in Ka’anapali, 3 miles away. The only hospital on Maui is 27 miles away in Wailuku, near the airport.

Air conditioning is almost nonexistent in Hawai’i as the weather is so perfect. There are portable fans and ceiling fans in every room.

There’s a big one with a Jacuzzi and lanai just steps away from the condo.

The nearest one is 1 1/2 miles south at Hawaiian Village Coffee at the Fairway Shops. You’ll pass it on your way from the airport.
